Is an automated feeder application which sends documents and images to imagesetters, platemakers, proffers and other output devices or software applications. It operates quickly and efficiently across local and wide area networks. Its visually intuitive interface provides easy control over jobs and queues, giving useful status feedback. Q2 and Imager. Imager is an application controlled by Q2, which sends bitmap tiff files to imagesetters, platemaker and proffers. Suitable files include those that have been produced by a RIP, which may be compressed in ether LZW, Packbits or CCITT Group files. Imager can be used with any imagesetter that operates with a HighWater PCI interface card, and it has the capability of supporting multiple output devices. Q2 and Balancer. Load balancer makes sure that all queues have similar loads, by allocating jobs according to the status of the queues. It keeps CMYK sets together, so that they are output by the same device. It ensures a smoother job flow, and it almost eliminates idle time. FEATURES ¨ Multiple queues. Q2 can control up to one hundred separate queues, each feeding a different application or output device, enabling their efficient use. ¨ Chain processing. Automatic transfer of files to different destinations. For example, producing a metal plate from a platesetter, then an ink duct report. ¨ Runs across your network. This allows you access to your output devices from many machines. Q2 will copy files across the network. ¨ Automated processing with unattended operation. This leaves you free to do other jobs while Q2 is running. Done jobs can be automatically deleted, so as to optimize disk space and processing speed. ¨ Job control. Q2’s user interface, now with thumbnail image display, gives you precise control over the individual jobs in each queue. For example, you can prioritize, specify the number of copies, suspend a job if desired, or specify mutually-exclusive queues. ¨ Easy to set up. Set up all your “hot folders” and applications with one, easy-to-use dialogue box. ¨ Using Load Balancer with Q2. This additional module ensures that all your queues have similar loads. This increases efficiency and drastically reduces idle time. |
