We are pleased to announce the release of version 5.5r1c of the Torrent RIP. This release is intended for use with the ProofReady plugin for Epson Variable Size Dot (VSD) printers. This plugin supports the Epson 10000, 5500, 7600 and 9600 printers. This ProofReady plugin can be used in conjunction with the Harlequin Error diffusion screens 2-bit plugin (HEDS2) supplied at the same time. This are the New features: 1.1 MinSmoothness and MaxSmoothness—11979. With the introduction of PostScript Language Level 3 and PDF version 1.3, it is possible to construct vignettes using Shaded Fills.This RIP update allows the user to override the default smoothness values within PDF files. This new operator allows the user override the default smoothness values within PDF files. The smaller the value used results in smoother gradation of vignettes, fills etc. Large values will result in banding appearing upon in the RIP ROAM and output. The values used below should be correct for normal high resolution printing circumstances. Note. Only this RIP version and later has the facility to override PDF smoothness values. Using the PdfGradationControl file into earlier RIP will not cause the PDF smoothness values to be overridden. 1.2 Screening plugin methods expanded—24989. The screening plugin methods have be expanded to handle multiple instances and multilevel screens. 2 Issues fixed in this release 2.1 Table Clear codes cause LZW decoder ioerror—11962 This problem has been fixed. 2.2 ResolutionIndependent allows selection of invalid resolutions—45062. When the selected device uses deviceResolutionsInPairs[Scaled] the page setup and calibration edit dialogs show all possible vertical resolutions, but only the horizontal resolutions which are valid for the selected vertical resolution. You should select the vertical resolution first, followed by the horizontal. When the vertical resolution is changed, the horizontal resolution is also changed to the same value, or if that is invalid it is left as is, or if that is invalid it is set to the first entry in the menu. |
